FOUNDATION:
MEXICO has basically the same topographical make up as the US. Mountains, Beaches, Jungles & Deserts, along with vast cashes of resources totaling 7.62 billion in 2020 exports, of precious metals alone (as an example)! Which doesn't even come close to the wealth of untapped opportunities via the vast "rare earth elements", agriculture, entertainment, petroleum, trade goods, etc., rounding well over a yearly GDP of $1.2 Trillion! (...and thats NOT counting the narcotic exports that tops well over 1/2 a Billion (U.S. dollars) a year!
Then theres an abundance of Mother Nature's out pouring of blessings as seen in the lakes, rivers, sun, sky and rich soil!
And to top it all off there's Mexico's mind-blowing food, art, culture, architecture and yes, even top notch Universities that is supported by an even a greater indigenous population that, on average, are vastly more culturally desirable vs. their contemporaries in the States. In fact, that day laborer, bus boy, and seasonal field hand, may have a college degree in a myriad of disciplines such as Engineering , Mathematics, Architecture to Art History, Classical Musical Theory, too Agriculture and Computer Science! Rooted in a culture that instills deep family values and traditions that are centered around the core of "Dios, Familia, and Trabajo"!
Which... sadly, more often then not, stands in stark contrast to the "Dinero, Dinero, Dinero" indoctrination, bleached into the roots of most every American from birth as the ONLY motivation/goal in life. (Please understand there is NO condemnation in this statement, just a simply an honest observation from decades long friendship with those hailing from both sides of the Mighty Rio Grandè!)
QUESTION: With all of that, and much, much more, including children, family, friends, a way of life that is truly "Home", a country that speaks your native language!...Would you want to leave, risk your life to sneak into a country thousands of miles away, to basically beg for a work that pays less then minimum wage, in a country that openly uses, views and treats you as a disposable manual laborer?!?! WHY!?!
ANSWER: It starts with generational corruption within a (basically) one party political system. Which siphons resources from the public coffers. That leads to little to no funding for public works and personnel. Which leads to grossly underpaid local governments and law enforcement. Which hinders the structure for local business' to take seed. Which stifles opportunity for those not born into the Elite class to "move up". Which result in the death of the Middle Class. Which makes way for Criminal enterprises (e.g. Cartels) to thrive openly. Which spreads violence, corruption, and an overall degradation of societies structure, like an unchecked cancer riddled through a once healthy body. Which brings Us to where we are currently at now. A neighboring country, rife with cancer, thats being given a sugar pill as treatment, when the treatment has come to the category of extreme, if not radical.
WHICH... brings us to "the WALL"! As an applicant for Our 33rd Governor of this Land of Enchantment, each of You deserves to know where I stand on this issue. Yet, more importantly, I would humbly ask that, each of You suspend any predetermined reckonings (notions) as too one way or another, pro or con, Liberal or Conservative on this most dire real world issue; until Y'all hear me out! As, I'd bet "dime to donuts" (as my mother use to say...lol) that most of You will find my "take" on this affair, is one of sure originality, chalk full of pragmatic reckoning and good ol' Red White & Blue Common sense!
As I, whole heartedly subscribe to the hard fact that: The LOVING (as in Love thy Neighbor) thing to do is Finish Building the wall, with a "No Man's Land" buffer, and top if off with (plz god forgive me ... ) Armed boarder Agents, and/or Military. NOW, before you slam the laptop closed or break your phone.. Just .. PAUSE.. and take a read, below.. then give it a "think" for a beat! And if after all that, You still want to break your device in disgust or whatever.. Well then.. It's a free country.. (FOR NOW).. and will remain so under my Administration...& to that, I can PROMISE; Neighbors!

my response to any edict, mandate and/or directive
from the White House that either violated our State Constitution
or lent to any act that would impede either the livelihoods and/or freedoms of any New Mexican, would be met with a
respectful, yet colorful "GO.. POUND... SAND" refusal!
It STOPS NOW!
First, I would establish legal precedent for enacting the following directives (see below).
Second, I would:
1- Declare a State of (Public Health) Emergency
2- Direct the New Mexico Army National Guard to actively enforce both
U.S. & State of New Mexico law(s) concerning illegal entry into Our State with much vigor as legally allotted by State Law.
3-Issue a "stand ready" order to both the New Mexico Mounted Patrol
and the New Mexico State Defense Force, in regards to assisting both the NMANG, and New Mexico State Boarder Patrol.
Third, I would actively advance my agenda entitled:
"SOUTHWEST COALITION OF STATES"
Said, "agenda" would begin with a linking of arms with both
TEXAS & ARIZONA (click to read more) in a joint initiative to fend off any/all un-constituted action(s), engagement(s), judicial rites and/0r directives stemming from "any" entity claiming jurisdiction and/or
authority without:
A) due-process that ensure both the protection and freedoms of our respective citizenry
B) both detailed & vetted workings as to why, what, where & when...
C) full & transparent end-to-end disclosure
D) an opportunity to "peer review" counter endgame solutions that are
more favorable to those that call this
Land of Enchantment... HOME!
Forth, I would issue a Statewide edict, directed to all State Law
Enforcement Officers to Arrest any/all individuals aiding & abetting in
the relocation/transporting or housing of those who entered the State illegally or improperly, under the suspicion of "Domestic Terrorists" as provided by the "Patriot Act". (NOTE: said "edict" would hold no exemption for those employed, hired or acting on behalf of any
3-lettered agencies)
Fifth, Double down on fines and imprisonment for Employers that hire illegal/undocumented persons via 8 U.S. Code § 1324a-Unlawful
employment of Aliens
Sixth, Declare a "STATE OF EMERGENCY" in order to grant the CONNER Administration to take extra measures to protect the New Mexican public.

TOUGH LOVE
FIRST:
America is Mexico's relief valve. So as long as we continue to dance around the actual militant style lockdown of our mutual border; Mexico will never achieve the critical amount of domestic pressure to effect change! Granted, change in this scenario will most assuredly result in violence via a (type of) peoples revolution.
WHICH, will create opportunity; both bitter & sweet. 1st, We New Mexicans' would be gifted with the opportunity to extend Mercy, Love, Kindness and (yes) Relief to Our Southern neighbors in many forms of comfort-bending acts of pure charity, via Our time, Our wallets, Our convenience, Our New Mexican resources and of course a (voted on) set (temporary) set portion of Our State's budget in support of Mexico's Civil fight for internal opportunities that come from A) ridding themselves of national
corruption at all levels; from the local municipalities, to law enforcement and judicial branches. Until they (the Mexican People) force a consequent based
accountability unto the ruling (political) Elites
in that much economic is equally girted with the neighborly responsibility
SO, not unlike a loving parent reluctantly having to discipline an unruly child, after all other avenues of parental interventions having failed to take root, due to a repeated trend of complacency, half-ass measures and a total lack of the ability to simply make the "HARD" choice(s) and "Stick to the Plan"kk said loving parent dealing with a good kid that has engulfed your once lovely home with relentless dishonesty, non-stop narcotics with will be left with no other choice but that "break the Glass" hard "TOUGH LOVE". Which may manifest in many, corporal correction. As painful as it may be for parent and child alike at the moment, in reality time will prove that said correction was done out of Love for the betterment of the child's future.
HENCE, locking down our southern border may seem like a "mean" thing to do; but like a parent to a child, it actually IS THE LOVING THING TO DO!
A ROOTED TOMORROW
SECOND:
Locking down the border is paramount to the character and strength of tomorrows America! Far-fetched as this line of reasoning may seem, it makes it no-less then true and ultimately necessary to assure a strongly grounded American future, which is the answer to this question.
"...without the influx of illegal alien labor, who is going to pick our fruit, trim our trees, clean our hotel rooms, and the other countless hard labored & demeaning jobs that barely tap minimum wage, at best?"
ANSWER: "OUR CHILDREN!" Now before you bust a gut laughing out loud, here me out on this, and track my reasoning; and tell me that it's not pragmatically grounded in reality!
Those "jobs"that are hard, dirty and often times considered demeaning at sh*t wages" build character in OUR developing youth! Yes they're HARD! Yes, they're DIRTY! And, Yes, they are often (at the time) considered DEMEANING! But, its those very jobs and the time spent overcoming the heat & cold teaches "preparedness. Time spent hunched over scrubbing grime, picking produce and/or covered in grease, teaches "fortitude" and the ability to power through, or were I'm from "Cowboy-Up", knowing that he/she can survive life's hardships. As for performing those demeaning tasks, instills a measure of humility that when applied collectively guarantees a more compassionate America. And, finally putting in a hard days work for a hard days pay, teaches the value of a dollar, which in turn fosters an overall growing and healthy domestic economy.
Collectively, these "immigrant" jobs that are traditionally the starting block for the development of our Youth produces a tomorrow of self reliance, innovation, respect, compassion, ethics and motivation to continuously reach for that next branch, trek to that next horizon, knowing that WE... (future) Americans can weather each approaching storm regardless of it's manifestation. All due to the foundational lessons absorbed in those very Hard, Dirty, Demeaning jobs that we pawn off on the illegal foreign labor force.
RESULT:
Removing both the expectation, demand and opportunity in/for our Youth to fill said "immigrant" jobs, all but assures a weaken and ultimately compromised America, not long for the future.
BIBICAL RESPONSABILITY
THIRD:
It could be argued that the Wall is a tool to maintain a Biblical mandate by aiding American in the fulfillment of
Matthew 7:5 which instructs:
"...first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye"
Thus applied on a national level, doesn't it make both moral, economic and practical sense to first acknowledge , address, and attend to the countless and growing homeless, hungry and affected American citizens, before taking on other nations....SAME?!? How does that make any sense?
Would it not be more pragmatic to expend the finite American resources on those actual Americans, with the goal of lifting, healing and returning them into the American consumer market; that in turn would add to the over all health of the the nation...then open our boarders to qualified persons that can provide additional value to Our nation?? Yes?
Or should we continue to ignore those Americans that are downtrodden, that at one point or more contributed to the collective betterment of this Nation, and if assisted, could so once more; but instead those resources, services and finite economic assistance are disrespectfully prioritized to those whom have not contributed a cent, served a day in uniform, baked one brownie for a charitable cause, or bled a drop to water the Tree of Freedom they are so eager to pick from?!
Am I koo koo krazy, or is this starting to take shape, pragmatically ?!?
