NEW MEXICO DIGITAL DEFENSE BUREAU

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the form of Machine Learning (ML) poses a real-world existential threat to each and all New Mexicans in ways that  have yet to be fully calculate and/or imagined, should We (the State of New Mexico) fail to heed the following 22 word declaration of certainty, penned by more than 1,000 tech leaders, CEOs and scientists that warns:

"Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war."

 Thus, the critical need for the State of New Mexico to create a state agency, charged with the sole mandate to: 

 

-safeguard the freedoms and abilities of each New Mexican to maintain his/her day to day life via the prevention of assured chaos that would ensue in the near future when attack methodologies, now in their infancy, have matured to a more destructive level-
